Tiberi's Latest

Yesterday, in a vote on a farm bill that would have cut help to farmers and cut the SNAP program for the poor, Rep. Pat Tiberi  (OH-12th) voted in favor of HR 1947. Yes, folks, Pat Tiberi voted to cut food aid to the poor. Joining Tiberi in supporting this disastrous bill were John Boehner (OH-8), Bob Gibbs (OH-7), Bill Johnson (OH-6), David Joyce (OH-14), Bob Latta (OH-5), Jim Renacci (OH-16), Steve Stivers (OH-15),  and Mike Turner (OH-10).

Contact Rep. Tiberi's office to let him know how you feel about his vote to support cuts to agriculture and cuts to feeding the poor:

Boehner Doesn't Care About Ohio

* It is just sad that people just keep electing John Boehner when he does absolutely nothing to help his constituents and the state of Ohio. Boehner's constituents are really the corporate titans and far right, rich guys, with lots of money. As a result of Boehner's disregard for Ohio, we'll face some big, big problems if/when Boehner's sequester plan kicks into force.

DailyKos has some of the hits Ohio will face:

  • Ohio will lose approximately $25.1 million in funding for primary and secondary education, putting around 350 teacher and aide jobs at risk.
  • In addition, Ohio will lose approximately $22 million in funds for about 270 teachers, aides, and staff who help children with disabilities.
  • In Ohio, approximately 26,000 civilian Department of Defense employees would be furloughed, reducing gross pay by around $161.4 million in total. Army: Base operation funding would be cut by about $1.9 million in Ohio....

Looking for Pat Tiberi?

We'll all be keeping an eye on Republican Rep. Pat Tiberi (OH-12) as he navigates his way to becoming more conservative. Tiberi was once considered a moderate, but now is definitely more conservative. According to the Washington Post, Tiberi votes with his Republican Party 96% of the time.  In fact, Pat Tiberi and John Boehner voted against legislation to save the American auto industry (see House Vote #690).

Support President Obama

>>> If you support President Obama's proposal on guns, it is time to contact your member of Congress.

Republican Rep. Pat Tiberi has been hiding behind Boehner and Cantor waiting for directions on what to do next. Tiberi's district was gerrymandered to give him better protection in future elections, while he continues to play an obedient servant to the Republican leadership and their far right agenda.

How effective has Tiberi been in the House of Representatives? In the 112th (2011-2012) Congress, Tiberi sponsored eleven bills, none of which became law. Tiberi is so far out of the middle, that he has an "A" rating with the NRA. Although he votes with his Republican Party 94% of the time, he continues to be more concerned with businesses and corporations than the human beings that live in his district.

Contact Pat Tiberi and other members of the House and the Senate and tell them average Americans want them to pass President Obama's proposals on gun control. Call local offices, or email them TODAY.

Contact Time!

Back to work, people! The election might be over but some Republicans need to be sent a message!

DailyKos:

John Boehner's worse nightmare.  The phones, faxes and e-mails of Republican representatives being flooded with contacts from voters in their Districts demanding that the Representatives sign the discharge petition filed by Nancy Pelosi.

You can make it happen by contacting your Representative and demanding that he or she sign the discharge petition (if he or she has not already done so).  Then you should send an an e-mail to everyone in your address book asking them to contact their Representative as well.   And you should also post it on your Facebook page, send tweets, and use other social media to get the word out.

To find out if your Representative has signed the discharge petition

Here is a list of Representatives and their contact information:

Let them know we expect them to sign the discharge petition now. You might also let them know that you are tired of being ignored by the Republican Party while they focus their attention on millionaires and billionaires.

Romney? Mourdock? Flake? Mandel? NO!

> No thank you!

Here is a little reminder from AmericanBridge21st:

••••  Did you know that Ohio Republicans Pat Tiberi, John Boehner, Mike Turner, Jean Schmidt, Jim Jordan, Bob Latta, Steve Austria, and Steve LaTourette all voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act?

Others that voted against the Lilly Ledbetter bill include: Jeff Flake (AZ), Michelle Bachmann (MN), Mike Pence (IN), Dan Lungren (CA), Paul Ryan (WI), Peter King (NY), Dean Heller (NV), Jason Chaffetz (UT), Paul Broun (GA), Tom Price (GA), and other Republicans just don't like the idea that women should have equal pay and the ability to sue if she is not being paid fairly.

Here in Ohio, Republican tea party favorite, Josh Mandel stated his opposition to pay equity, marriage equality, the auto-bailout, clean air, clean water, lowering interest rates on college loans, and increasing taxes on the rich.  Mandel also is against abortion, even if a woman is a victim of rape or incest.

Ladies-- Things will never get better for us unless we elect people that support equal pay. We also need to keep those Republicans out of office that are obsessive about what happens in a woman's uterus. We want our privacy and the ability to make our own decisions about our bodies without some Republican showing up in the examining room!

Vote for President Obama because he respects women and their rights to make their own decisions.

Pat Tiberi Against American Auto Companies?

Republican Rep. Pat Tiberi voted against the auto restructuring plan, known as the auto bailout. If you have a job that depends on the survival of the American auto industry's survival, you might want to rethink which candidate should receive your vote.
